Farm Aid 2001

Six-Hour Live Special aired Saturday, September 29, 2023 on CMT

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - High Five Entertainment (HFE) produced Farm Aid for the sixth consecutive year, bringing the six-hour live television special to CMT on Saturday, Sept. 29, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET. Farm Aid 2001, held at the Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville, Ind., featured founders Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp and Neil Young as well as Dave Matthews, Martina McBride and Arlo Guthrie.

Farm Aid was founded in 1985 by Nelson, Mellencamp and Young to raise public awareness about the plight of America's farmers and to provide assistance to those families whose livelihood rely on agriculture.

"We're honored to be part of Farm Aid again and to be working with the founders who have spent years supporting America's heartland," said Martin Fischer, president of HFE. "Again, the show has an incredible line up with something for everyone. The show opens with Martina and ends with Willie."
